I received a message from Adriano a couple of months ago advising me that his brother-in-law Paul had sadly passed away. Paul was the very first person who joined the group in 2003, and the first Safari owner I met with. I was naturally saddened to learn of his passing at a much too early age.
Adriano has just joined the forum and posted this message. If anyone can help him out it would be good, but I understand that his Safari is a long way from many of us.
I am joining in the hope that I can get a message to enthusiasts. I want to make you aware that as the executor of my brother in laws estate I am charged with selling the following (prior to my mother in law sending the whole lot to scrap). A 1980 Safari 12'6 model with a lot of spares and 2 awnings in good condition Serial no is 80196 It has all the original upholstery and curtains I think- but it has not moved for about 5 years. Looking for someone to make a reasonable offer for everything and take it off our hands. The caravan is in Mevagissey - Cornwall - it is in a not too bad condition - an enthusiast would make it road worthy quite simply. A new fridge is needed an the door lock is broken. We also have a spare 1980 Safari chassis made by B and B - that is free to anyone that wants it otherwise that too will go to a breakers yard unfortunately. IN the meantime I will be listing the item on eBay with photos.
