I do not want to paint my 1965 caravan. I want to treat it like an antique. So what the hell do I do if I still want to use it? Use varnish or something? Cheers

You have to cover bare aluminium or it will oxidise and eventually perforate. On steel you could use a metal lacquer, but for paints to adhere to aluminium you need an etch primer first. Show us some pictures and more detailed advice could follow.
