THE ONLY FORUM FOR ENTHUSIASTS OF CLASSIC SAFARI CARAVANS MADE BETWEEN 1948 AND 1982.
This group was started in 2003, with the aim of encouraging the preservation and enjoyment of all Safari Caravans made before 1978 and of the classic shape with the drop front side window made until 1982.
We try to assist owners in preservation, restoration, sales and purchase of these excellent Caravans. Membership is open to anyone who owns, has owned, or would like to own a Safari caravan, or is a supplier of products or services directly related to these Caravans.
The world's largest collection of photographs of Safari Caravans is now on the Facebook group.
It is exactly ten years ago today that I collected my Safari 14-2. It is very easy for me to remember as I towed the Caravan from Manchester to Essex the day after my first Grandson was born – he was 10 yesterday! On my way back I was in a Services and I was asked if my Safari was the one that had just been sold on Ebay – as mine wasn’t, I contacted the vendor who put me in touch with the new owner – Paul –(On forum as Pistonbroke). Paul lives in Cornwall, so I thought it unlikely we would meet, but in May 2004 Paul was at Brands Hatch in Kent with his Safari so we held the first Classic Safari meeting! There was nothing on the internet about Classic Safaris and so Paul convinced me to do something and the rest, as they say, is history. 380 members on the forum, 110 on Facebook, and a few others that won’t join either, mean that well over 400 individuals have joined in the fun.
