I have repaired a few safari's Could someone answer a few questions:- When did Abby/Cosalt stop coach building safari’s. Using unpainted aluminium panels and covering the joints with D mould, then spray painting the complete unit? As far as I can recall the early safari’s had a floor made out of tongue and groved boarding about 18mm thick. When did they change to plywood floors? I recall working on an old safari that had the lantern roof covered in hardboard. Was this a DIY repair or was it an early method of construction. When did Abbey start fitting double glazed windows? Any ideas? pjohno
