hi guys, just bought a safari welton 'galliaro' 1979 but it doesnt have an awning...any idea if there is such a thing as a universal awning and where I could get one or would there be the chance someone has one specifically for this model for sale...highly unlikely but if u dnt ask u dnt know eh!! thanx guys kitty_merchel@yahoo.co.uk KIM x

I replied to your other message before I read this one. This group doesn't really cover the Safari Welton range and so the figures quoted below only apply to the classic Safari shape, with the drop front side windows.
Welton were a different make that were also bought out by Abbey Caravans around the same time as Safari, and so they added the Safari name in front of Welton to be able to combine their marketing of the two brands.
You can measure your awning rail by putting a bit of string through it and then measuring the length.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Weltons were bought by co salt and made at Safari at a factory at Nailsworth about 5 miles from Stroud for about 2/3 years they the were then produced back at the Stroud factory it was then they became GXL and then a number hopes this helps you all michael1
