Found the website and thought I'd come and say hello to everyone! I'm a classic caravan enthusiast and over the last few years have been lucky enough to own a westmorland star, a cheltenham and a roma special supreme; yesterday I became the proud owner of a 14/2 - serial number 77603. It's in fantastic condition as it's been dry stored for quite some time; all that really needed to be done was to give it a good clean both inside and out, and some work on the wiring system (which my partner is currently doing). Looking forward to some adventures in her! Cheers Rootygirl

Hi Rootygirl and welcome to the forum.
In your other post you ask if 77603 is too high a number for one years production, a few years ago I would have said yes but as more serial numbers are posted the annual production figures seem to be going up and up.
Numbers over 500 include:
1964 - 607 1965 - 796 1968 - 734 1978 - 606 1979 - 802
So yours at 603 for 1977 does seem possible.
Perhaps Michael who worked at Safari caravans could confirm that for quite a few years the factory were making 15 Safaris a week.
Obviously my highest number cannot be taken as the total production for any particular year.
I have not seen a "Custom Built" badge and would be interested to see a picture of yours so we can try to assess if we think it was an original feature or something added by an enthusiastic owner.
