I am very pleased to have found and joined this wonderfull Safari site. At the moment i am looking for a safari of the largest possible dimensions as i moved off of the water a wee while ago and have to consider the wishes of my better half, daughter and ginger comedy dog in having a bit more space to live in. Currently we are in a Mercedes 308d van which i have done a conversion on, this will be the tow vehicle as soon as something nice turns up! Best wishes to all, Crow Hedger

Hi Crowhedger (you will have to explain your forum name some time!), and welcome to the group.
As you may have read elsewhere on the forum, the largest Safari is a 17ft, available as a 2 and 4 berth.
Owing to their weight, they are not the most popular size and therefore can often represent quite a bargain. I don't know the Mercedes van range numbers in detail but I would think that yours is man enough to pull a 17ft. Most people use larger 4x4's for these whereas a 15ft is towable by a large saloon car.
Good luck with your search, and if you need any advice just post on here. Thanks for your post on painting, it is always useful to hear how skills can be transferred between different "hobbies".

WHOOP, WHOOP!!!!!! Hello Brian and other "Safamily" members, Here at Hedgemonkey Towers we find ourselves proud owners of a 17/2 special that we have just purchased on Ebay. We will send details of the serial number as soon as we pick the lovely up next week. I'm really looking forward to seeing the look on my daughters face when we pick her up for half term as we shall be on the return leg of the tow. The 'van seems to be in great condition, dry stored for ten years!!!!! Gonna keep you guessing about my name! Health and Happiness, Crow Hedger and KT faerie
