Serial number 63350, in need of a fair bit of restoration but basically sound and complete, I've listed it on gumtree with some pics and I'm open to offers. Thanks a lot for having a look and I'd be grateful for any questions, input or opinions.

If you look at the classic caravan Facebook groups, you will see that a lot of people think you are being wildly optimistic with your price on Gumtree.
There is a very similar model to yours that also requires a full restoration that is for sale at £250.
For any Safari to fetch over £1500 it really has to be in perfect condition in all aspects, and not all restored Safaris fetch even that.
Sorry to be a bit negative, but you did ask for advice.

Hi Brian, thanks for the response, I'm aware that £3000 is wildly optimistic but someone might really want it. I'm not on facebook but I'd be very keen on the £250 safari you mention,I'd guess the ally alone would be worth almost that much. cheers.

The £250 one is now under offer. The best I have ever got for the complete ally body is £70 - there is not much weight in the ally body. And that is after three days hard graft taking it apart. I have a loft full of spares and probably get three orders a year! So there is not a lot of money to be made by breaking them. The 17ft Safaris are really too rare to break but realistic prices have to be accepted.

the fluctuating price of metal....I'd be a bit disappointed with 70 quid. this Safari is unique and so the value is whatever someone will pay, realism has nothing to do with it.

In agreement with Brian that a tip top one would struggle to achieve this. But good luck to you if you find someone willing to part with the cash.
