Hi, I have just joined the group and am the proud owner of a 1971 Safari 14/2 caravan, serial no. 71261 which is known to Brian. I have now owned it for three years and as you can see its in very good condition, I have attached a photograph and the only changes I have made is to fit a new shade to the gas lamp, installed new (old stock) interior electric lights and fitted age related stainless steel wheel trims. Will post further info later. Allen

Welcome to the forum Allen - but you have puzzled me. I did not have your Safari on the register and I don't recall talking to you, and so I am not sure how you thought I knew about your Safari!! Please help me to remember!!

Hi Brian,
I am surprised you have not got my van listed on the register as there are many photographs in your gallery. The 1967 to 1972 show photo's are shown as 2-5, 47-55 and 97-105. Do you have any history for this van, as I would be very interested, I do have the name and address of the original owner. I look forward to hearing from you. Regard Allen.

OK Alan. now I understand our confusion.
Most of the photographs in the albums are taken from ebay adverts for Safari caravans, and therefore for most of them I do not know the serial number.
I have checked the photos of your Safari and have the following ebay auctions in my records.
In May 2004, your Safari was sold for £1995 in Grimsby.
In September 2007 it was bid to £1170 and was based in Newark.
There was a further auction in August 2010, by the same vendor as the previous one, this time based in Nottingham but the auction ended while the starting bid of £100 had not been overbid.
Hope this helps

She looks lovely have you any more photos? Gary I. If you visit Brian's photo gallery 1969/72 and view pictures no.47/55 and 98/105 there are some of the interior. I think they are the correct numbers but anyway read my earlier messages to Brian for list of numbers. Allen

Sorry for not replying sooner I did not purchase the caravan on eBay, not bad for £100 pounds I wish, but I did pay a three figure sum for it, did't realise my negotiating skills were that good and delivered too. So I must be the third owner as it was not sold in 2007 and he told me he bought it from the owners in Grimsby. He also replaced the original wheels with new bearings brand new 8ply tyres and wheels, hence me fitting wheel trims. Hope additional info. will assist with your history notes. Regards. Allen
