Hi all,
I have inherited my great aunties safari 13/2, No 68541. It has sat in a dry barn since 1983 and is in very good condition for a 45 year old caravan. It was going to be broken up, but I have fitted new tyres and moved it out of harms way.
The running gear seems to be in good condition, the shell is watertight and the brakes work (electrics not so good, so had to fit a new light board). I am an engineer by trade so all repairs and maintenance are within my limited ability to do myself, but I have no previous experience of caravan ownership, so a few pointers on what needs doing and when would be of great help.
The soft furnishing are in need of an update, so I was wondering if anyone has any pics of the interior of an original van for me to get an idea of what they should look like. I want to keep this van as close to original as possible, but also practicle for me and my family to use (gas lights will need to be removed).
Any help much appreciated, Mark.

Welcome to the group (and to the Facebook group!)
You do have a 68 Safari and if you go to the photo libraries on Webshots you will find load of photos of interiors.
A read through the technical section will give you lots of pointers on general maintenance and things to look out for.
In my stock of spares I have several base cushions of the same period as your Safari. They are a sort of dark pink colour I will need to go in the loft to measure them.
