Hi Brian, I have looked at many pictures of the Safari's and can't help
thinking what a modern, curing traditional shape the safari's are, a
compliment to modern and classic cars.I have seen some new shape caravans on
the road and to me they look flimsy and like wedges of cheese!! No offence
to owners of new caravans, but give me a traditional safari any time, cosy,
strong and pleasant to look at, yes I agree with all members they cause
attraction where ever we take them !! thanks again for an interesting webb
site, Martin

I totally agree with Martin - when waiting in a line of modern caravans at Calais last week, I had the owners of almost every one of them come and have a look at mine.
The word that came over most was "stylish". I think it is as simple as the curve of the front side windows. No one else has ever done anything like it and it really adds to the lines of the caravan.
Coupled with the excellent build quality even after more than 25 years who could want more?
Brian

Safaris do indeed cause a stir when viewed by the modern caravaners (or by anyone else for that matter). When my van is parked at work, which is an Elddis and Adria dealer almost everyone has a favourable comment to make about it, even the people picking up brand new vans. A few weeks ago a couple were picking up brand new Avante 630, whilst the manager was doing the handover the husband wandered off to look at my Safari, much to his wifes annoyance who promptly shouted some expletives at him containing the words get back here and listen!!
Gareth.

Martin...I own an ABI caravan,my first van infact.Wedge of cheese....Yes
Flimsy......er...yes but you are missing one vital point in your observation......EMPLOYMENT.If it was,nt for hinges breaking everytime you use a cupboard...Knobs falling off when you touch them.......Handles that crack at the mearest hint of pressure........fittings that........well ... dont fit.......corner steady,s that give up the ghost if you are an ounce heavier than Kate Moss.....the list is endless! But without these, caravan accessory shops and dealers would become a thing of the past and the employee,s would end up boosting the unemployment figure by thousands!!
So in view of this new point I have bought to light and grabbed your attention with my endless babble........Anyone got a 4 birth safari they want to sell me?? Paul
