I am selling what I believe to be a 1980 Safari 12/2 2 berth caravan which has only had 3 owners since new the last one being my late brother in law who had it for the last 10 years I think. In addition there are a quantity of spares including 2 awnings.
The original blue warranty card is present as is an NCC certificate which details chassis number 318360 and serial number 80176.
It has the original upholstery and curtains - It has a shower and I think a large table.
The caravan is located in Mevagissey, Cornwall and whilst in reasonable condition will need some TLC. It was used regularly until about 5-6 years ago at which point it was parked up and has not moved since. I have been told that it will need new brakes and tyres.
My brother in law believed it be worth £500 - I have no idea and my role, as executor, is to dispose of it as part of the estate so the best offer takes it and all the spares. I would rather it go to an enthusiast before my mother-in-law does something stupid with it - am not joking...as it is parked on her drive she is fed up with seeing it...
I know little about caravans, so all I can comment on is its general appearance and have a bunch of photos to help. This is what I have noted:
1. the door lock is broken but you can get in and out
2. The front window seals need repairing
3. The jockey wheel is broken - but we have a spare one
4. The fridge door is broken - thus new fridge needed
5. There is no lock on the bit near the towing section -where the small gas bottle go?
Happy for people to call me and discuss - just don't laugh at my lack of technical knowledge.
My wife is in Cornwall this weekend if anybody wishes to view it and take it away for a reasonable amount.
Photos should be viewable on this link bit.ly/1QAq7bJ
