Safari Model: Looking for a 15/4
|

Hello,
Just joined yesterday and am looking for a Safari for us to look after and use. I don't know if there is such a thing as a 5 birth, but a 4 would be fine. I think Safari's look very stylish, I like the retro feel of them and I know they were well built.
We live in Kent and we'd use the caravan a lot in France and as another bedroom in the garden at home.
I've seen a 15/4 but it's in Carlisle so not practical to view or collect from here. I'm scouring papers and the internet for Safari's for sale, but I'd rather take over a caravan from someone on this forum or the owners club.
Ideally not looking for a caravan that's a complete restoration job, but I'm quite handy so can take on some work and painting.
Enjoy the summer
Jonny

Welcome Jonny.
A few points:
Safari never made a five berth, there were several different 4 berths. A 13ft, 15ft and a 17ft. But as you have seen these rarely come available.
Please do not confuse this forum or the Facebook group with the Safari Owners Club. None of their 20 or so members still own a Safari and they have been disparaging of our enthusiasm for the older Classic Safari style.
I am gong to start posting all ebay and gumtree adverts on here to provide a central location for those looking for a Safari.

Hi Brian,
Thanks. I did read a few of the threads about the owners club, it does seem strange how negative they have become. Understood about the confusion.
Thanks for the information about the different 4 births. The preferable length for us is the 15/4, so I'll keep my eyes open for one of these. Very kind of you to post all the ebay and gumtree links to Safari's for sale, that will be a great help.
I assume there will be more Safaris for sale at the end of the summer when owners have used them in the summer and decide to sell them before the winter.
Thanks
Jonathan
