Hello everyone, I bought a Safari from a friend for £150 at the weekend, not knowing the first thing about them. When I got home, I Googled Safari caravans and here you all are. What a wonderful site. The van is on the friend's land, inbetween Ludlow & Leominster (with a flat tyre) so I can't get a serial number til the end of next week. Judging by the photos I've been looking at on the site, I would say it's 1967-9. It needs A LOT of work, which I'm looking forward to trying myself (hopefully with some help!). I am, however, a total novice in all things caravan. I know that some of the original fittings have been taken out to make space for shelving, so I couldn't do a full restoration job unless the original parts are still knocking about somewhere. I don't have a camera at the moment, so photos might take a while. More soon….

Welcome Becky
As Stroud was the home of Safaris Caravans Ltd we have a few members in your area who may be able to help you in your restoration. I have a stock of internal doors and cupboards, so if you need any, just let me know the exact sizes and I'll see what I can do.

Fantastic, thanks so much for your offers of help. I'll be in touch with my various requests & queries after I've visited the caravan again next weekend. Michael - it would be great to meet up sometime, what a lot I could learn from you! It would be great to meet you as well Brian, maybe when I'm visiting my family in Essex…..
