EVENT CANCELLED OWING TO TOTAL LACK OF INTEREST
11 - 14 July 2014
ROYAL GUNPOWDER MILLS,
WALTHAM ABBEY, HERTS, EN9 1JY
(Two miles from J26 M25)
On the second Sunday in July I organize a Classic Car Show at this venue. This year I am adding a 4 day Classic Caravan event as well.
Details of the Royal Gunpowder Mills are below.
For the Classic Caravan Event you can arrive anytime from midday Friday but must stay for the Classic Car Event from 8.00-17.00 on the Sunday, and can leave on the Sunday evening or Monday.
The Classic caravans will be on display to the public on the Sunday only, and it is your choice to let the public inside your caravan or not. If you tow with a modern car we ask you to move it on the Sunday only to a separate but adjacent car park, to there can be a real classic ambience to the display.
There are toilets and waste disposal facilities but no showers. There is only one external electric supply so I cannot make this available to any caravan but it can be used for recharging batteries at any time during the weekend.
Due to the presence of a wild deer herd in the site DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
Owing to budget restriction I have had to agree to a charge for attending this event. Your car, caravan and two adults and two children will only cost £14 for the whole four days. Additional adults will cost £8.00 and children £3.00. This gives full admission to all the attractions in the Gunpowder Mills.

CLASSIC VEHICLE EVENT – 13th July
Now in its 6th successful year, the 2014 event is expanded to include an eclectic mix of vintage, classic, modern, performance, American and military. The arena for the display is over 1000ft long and is surrounded by a made-up road and throughout the day there will be themed cavalcades of the vehicles. This will provide visitors with a unique spectacle of classics in motion. There is extensive hard standing around and between the buildings giving the visitor a new display every turn of a corner. Space permitting we will to give you a display space on the hard standing to help to keep your pride and joy clean and dry!
Entry to the site is £5.00 for the driver and one passenger. Additional adults will pay £8.00 and children £4.00, the entry fee giving access to the whole visitor attraction. There are extensive exhibitions including the armoury which displays over 200 historic firearms covering the periods from the English Civil War to present day.
