I know this is a fairly specialist site and it has low number of users in comparison to classic car sites but why not all do a bit more to build it up??
Not saying fill the site with trivial stuff but lets get the pictures and what you have been doing on here, lets get the place alive!
Post more about your safari, where its been, what you have done to it, remember pictures speak a 1000 words so get snapping get the site, get the pictures and show us what you have!!

I couldn't agree more, Mick.
But 16 people have read your comment and not one of them has replied.
There seems to be a connection between the number of new members joining (high at the moment) and the general level of contributions (lowish at the moment)!
I will continue this board whatever happens, but it would be nice to get a bit more enthusiasm from more members.

Great site Brian
You helped motivate me to consider my safaris future in a more positive way. At this stage it is not certain how it will progress but I will try to update. I hope that other people reading this may post details of their caravans, good and bad as I have found, information and valued advice is freely available on this site. So please take a moment to post a reply on the forum, or perhaps a new topic as it will encourage me and others.

Hi Mick, I agree - this is a really great site, I come here all the time and I've never failed to find out what I need to know (because someone else has asked the same question before, or because Brian has known the answer)
I don't really have any tales to tell of our Safari. My Husband and No.1 son sollected it from Scotland in May, got it home, enlisted most of the neighbourhood to heave it onto the drive and there it has sat ever since.
We're attempting to repair all the rotten wood (which, as it turns out is ALL the wood) then we plan to take to the open road with her. If it were my choice we'd sell the house and everything in it, take the £50 we'd make and disappear off into the sunset with her. The kids are up for it but my Husband is knocking on a bit now and I'm having a job persuading him.
Anyway, the repairs we're attempting are recorded on our blog (www.adventuresinadampcaravan.blogspot.co.uk) but that's stalled a bit recently because I had a knee replacement and I've not been able to crack the whip over husband to get going on it. We'll be back on it by the end of the week though as we've got a bit of trim on the front to refit and until we do it's letting in the rain.
The only other interesting Safari related snippet I have is that we went to Anglesey at the end of August and on the way there we saw a light blue landrover towing a Safari. The Safri had a light blue stripe up the side and I'm not exactly sure where we were when we saw it (it was a seaside town in Wales, on the way to Anglesea and near a long tunnel through a big hill/mountain)
I hope everyone who visits says Hi and chips in anything they can - the help I get from the site is invaluable but the photos and stories are the real gems.

Hi all Just visited the site to catch up on any trivia. Its snow outside and very cold not the weather for using my 1962 17-4, glass windows and an early catyltic heater which never did put out that much heat. Still it did have a gas tap so you could connect up another heater. Anyway I do not think the safari will be in use for a while, it is just parked up on a relatives drive awaiting repair work. Now for a bit of trivia. My 17-4 safari was not made with an awning rail .
Roll on summer, but till then just a comment or snippet of safari tales will help us all remember those long summer days and warm nights, spent using the safari and not concerned about rubbish heaters and cold windows.
