Hi my partner and myself live in lincolnshire, and have a 1968 17/4 safari caravan, with orginal awning. We have owned her for 3 years, and use her through the summer for different events. She has a corner kitchen, with oven and hob. its cold water only, with use of a manual foot pump for the tap. She has no electric, so gas for everything, except lighting, which is run off a battery. the gas lamp fittings are still on the walls, but no lampshades. She is a lovely old timer.

Hi Gerry and welcome to the forum.
Nice to hear of another Safari being used and enjoyed.
Do you have any pics you could post?
Do you know the serial number to add to the database?

The serial number is 644C4, so can you let us know exactly the age from that? We have some photos, but need to sort them out.The previous owner was on the msn site, so you maybe have it already, and he lived in the Gower in wales. Cheers Gerry

The number shouldnt have any letters in, also the first 2 numbers are the year of manufacture, so yours could be a 1964 not 1968. Possibly no 404 but only stamped lightly so looks like a C?

Hi we have looked at our serial number again and it is 644C4, no question about it, as the weight is wrote above it, and the CW is the same as the the C in the serial number, cheers gerry
