THE ONLY FORUM FOR ENTHUSIASTS OF CLASSIC SAFARI CARAVANS MADE BETWEEN 1948 AND 1982.
This group was started in 2003, with the aim of encouraging the preservation and enjoyment of all Safari Caravans made before 1978 and of the classic shape with the drop front side window made until 1982.
We try to assist owners in preservation, restoration, sales and purchase of these excellent Caravans. Membership is open to anyone who owns, has owned, or would like to own a Safari caravan, or is a supplier of products or services directly related to these Caravans.
The world's largest collection of photographs of Safari Caravans is now on the Facebook group.
1979 2 berth, in excellent interior condition, totally original. Exterior paintwork needs attention but van is waterproof and shows no trace nor smell of damp. Offers of around £500 will be considered.
Hiya! I've been looking for a 12/2 in good condition for quite a while and recently missed a lovely one on ebay, which I'm still grumbling about! The first question has got to be...where are you? And have you got any pics of your caravan I can see? Also, has it been used recently and would it be fit to tow any distance without a service? That's enough to get us started! Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers! Lizzie
Hello Lizzie Sorry for the delay in replying but tied up with family matters. I live in Cheshire - in easy travelling distance of M6 and M56. I used the caravan for 10 days so far this year at the end of June/beginning of July when I travelled up to the Lake District for a holiday. I have booked a week in the Cotswolds (Caravan Club Broadway site) from 15th to 20 August. I have the van serviced at the same time as my tow car - in May each year. Cheers
