Whilst checking my car insurance, I noticed Confused.com are offering Caravan Insurance, so I put in details of my Safari and got several quotations. In previous threads many members have found it difficult to insure a Safari that is over 20 years old so I thought other members might like to see the results:
My details: 1978 Safari 14-2 (Entered as a Cosalt Safari) Kept at home with wheel clamp and hitchlock Replacement market value £1500 (So I could buy the best available) Contents £500 Other equipment £100
Towergate Bakers – Premium £78.75 Excess £150 Policy Information UK Cover Yes European Cover No Family Cover No Legal Cover No Type of Cover Market Value Contents Item Limit N/A Total Excess £150
PREMIUMS ON LINE Premium £81.50 Excess £100 Policy Information UK Cover Yes European Cover Yes Family Cover No Legal Cover No Type of Cover Market Value Contents Item Limit N/A Total Excess £100
1st Caravan Insurance – Premium £81.50 Excess £100
Policy Information UK Cover Yes European Cover Yes Family Cover Yes Legal Cover No Type of Cover Market Value Contents Item Limit N/A Total Excess £100
INSURE MY CARAVAN -Premium £89.50 Excess £250
UK Cover Yes European Cover Yes Family Cover Yes Legal Cover No Type of Cover Market Value Contents Item Limit N/A Total Excess £250
I have recently renewed my insurance with The Caravan Club for £52 (plus membership at £35) so the above quotes are very comparable.

My CC policy only has a £50 excess, and also includes £20k of personal accident cover for incidents whilst caravanning. I haven't checked all the details of the quotes above to see if this is included.
