I have been offered a 1982 Safari 14/2 which is about to go for scrap, and the owner thought there might be someone in the group who might be interested in taking it over. It has some rot in the top front corner and will need new tyres and some attention to the brakes and running gear to make it roadworthy but it has a relatively new fridge and water heater (5 years?) which have hardly been used, new upholstery and curtains, new alco hitch, jockey wheel and brake handle. There is also an Isabella awning, a porch awning and various other accessories if required. Being a late model it has the sought after double glazed windows and it sounds as if it would be a great source of spares for my stock. The owner may want a small contribution for it, but is more concerned to get it moved before he has to pay for a new storage contract. My problem is that it is about 10 miles outside Liverpool, and I am in Essex with a very full diary for the next 6-8 weeks. I am therefore asking if anyone in the North West could collect it and then either: - break it for Club spares for their own profit
- or break it and I will come up and collect the spares
- or keep it intact for about 2 months until I could get to collect it.
If you can help or know someone who can, I need a commitment before the end of the week so arrangements for collection can be made in the next 10 days.
