Whilst I understand that the XL series are part of Safari Caravan's history, when I started the group I felt that they did not deserve the Classic status that the previous shape had and so have resisted extending the scope of the group to include them.
There are some members who have XL series, either they traded up to them having previously owned a classic Safari, or they have an interest in the older Safaris.

I quite agree here is another one for you safari buffs have you ever herd of a safari tourhome they were built around 1959/60 they were 22 feet long and had the 50s triple bay window as far as i can rember we only built 24 plus 1 prototype ihave never seen one since they were built, the oldest safari i know of is a1947 owned by swift caravans it was refurnished at safari in the 70s,

Re the 'van owned by Swift They are currently in the process of renovating it to show at this years' caravan show in Birmingham....check out their website. My Step-Dad works there and said they're spending tons of time and money on it, should be worth a look.
