Does anyone have any experience of repair or replacement of the 14/2 cooker hob. Mine is burning with a lot of yellow flame, using blue bottle calor gas. I have cleaned the jets but I think the problem lies with the amount of air getting into the burner. There is a lot of rust around the top of the burner on the part that lets the gas through in the ring. I can't seem to free off the stainless steel retaining ring that holds the burner to the main sink unit top. is this a screw thread or a push fit? I think there is so much corrosion I shall not succeed with this. The grill and oven work fine.
Should I remove the whole sink unit? Can I obtain a replacement hob? Have I got the right jets?
I would much appreciate any help with this. Many thanks.

I have put this reply on your other threads as i am sure it is a problems that has or will affect many of us.
I hope other members can provide an answer to your question reagrding the hob burners. I have not had to replace mine, but a few years ago they seemed to be a bit blocked and so when they were hot I used a bit of wire to poke into the holes and blew them out with compressed air. I seems to have done the trick and now I have good flames on both.

Thanks Brian, Actually the outside tube going down through the stainless steel 'dish' is rusted badly and I had done what you suggested with a piece of wire to no avail.
I have found a possible supplier who breaks old caravans and has a barn full of spare parts:
Ivor Jones Hardwick Lodge Shropshire SY4 4AP 07950673155
I have spoken to him and he seems confident of finding a replacement unit for me. here's hoping.
Thanks for your help,
Peter
