Hi Brian many thanks for your comment on my paint job.For the record our 12/2 serial No. 78310 was purchased by my wife"s uncle in 1978 we have all the original paperwork including the manufacturers certificate No.357 he then sold it to my mother-in-law who then passed it onto us approx 8 years ago.
I was told how to repaint it by a very elderly man in Skegness who for many years painted caravans by hand, so to start I sanded down more especially the roof because it was the worst. The paint i used was Crown white metal primer, Crown undercoat then 4 coats of Selemix brush enamel colour code NP10 this can be obtained from good paint suppliers but be warned this enamel is just like water very thin. On the old chaps advice with a 6" gloss foam roller you apply about a sq. metre and then with a top quality paint brush you lightly scim across the surface and within 1hour it has dried to a smooth finish. To change the side strip colour i took a sample of our car colour "copperleaf red" to the paint supplier who matched the colour using a computor. Now all i need to complete the job is the wheel hub caps and trims so if anyone has any i would be very pleased to purchase.
When on holiday in Yorkshire every site we went on there was always great interest shown, my wife said we shall have to start charging. Well i hope i have helped in some way and if anyone is considering repainting they can always contact me by phone or Skype. I also manage a 12 acre sports field with toilets etc if anyone would like to organise a rally in the future???
Best wishes Norman
