From: Brian (Original Message) Sent: 01/03/2007 08:59 I recently acquired a Safari range brochure that was issued in November 1975 showing the range for 1976. A note in the brochure clears up a problem we have been having regarding double glazing. QUOTE A SPECIAL FEATURE Now you may enjoy the very special benefits of double glazing. All Safari caravans are fitted with a fully hermetically sealed double glazed front window as standard. Full double glazing (apart from roof vents) is available on all models as an optional extra. The brochure shows Safaris with and without double glazed side windows. My own 1978 14-2 has double glazed roof vents which perhaps we can assume became available (either as standard or as an option) in 1977 or 1978. Another piece in the jigsaw! Brian M

This confirms what we already knew, that some Safaris had only the front window double-glazed, and adds an explanation of how this happened.
It also confirms our existing knowledge that 1976 was a transition year, with at least some of them having front and side windows double glazed but not the roof vents, and also tells us that if in that year the 'van was fully double-glazed at the front then it continued all round (except for the roof vents). We had suspected that this was the case but this brochure provides the confirmation.
How about scanning the prochure and posting it in the Pictures or Documents section? That would nicely complement the existing brochures for 1970, 73, and 80. Perhaps even set up a separate section for the company's literature, to cover sales brochures, handbooks, and chassis manuals, etc.
