hello everyone. We're about to embark on a six month tour of Europe in our 1964 13-4 Safari, leaving for Santander on the 17th of this month and returning some time in April next year. The restoration and preparation are almost complete, and we are writing a blog to document the whole thing. thought you might like a read! I've stripped the caravan down to the metal and she looks better than an airstream!

any comments most welcome!

Good luck. I wish I weren't so normal and boring or I'd do something like that. It should be a brilliant experience, especially with all that polished aluminium!
To the Forum- take a look at the blog; this is one of those earlyish modern shape Safaris with the reversed ogee curve, like a breaking wave. Informative to be able to nail a year onto it - how do you know it's 1964? Very elegant but no prizes in the wind tunnel.

the guy we bought it from told us - don't know how he dated it, but the serial number begins with 64...sounds reasonable to me.
by the way, your advice about the replacement window was timely and spot on. We had one of ours smashed on the same day, and managed to get it fixed for a tenner's worth of glass, using the method you described - Cheers
