Oliver was one of the most active supporters of the old MSN group as he, his brother and his parents had been Safari owners for around 50 years! But for the last few years he has largely dropped out of caravanning, in favour of a return to his first love, sailing.
He has asked me to post this offer and deal with any interest from members.

FREE to anyone who would like to collect - the almost complete interior of a Safari 17-S.
This was rescued some years ago by my brother, from a caravan which the owner felt was too far gone structurally to be viable to repair. Although the bodyshell was in a dire state the interior is in sound condition, and cosmetically reasonable (although far from immaculate). Because it seemed then, and still seems, much to good to go to the tip we both thought it worth salvaging.
It has been stored in my garage ever since, but neither of us have any personal use for it. It won't even provide many emergency spares for the 17/2 because it seems that the locker sizes are not identical; whether that is because it is a different model year or because of differences between the 17-2 and the 17-S I don't know. Certainly there were a few differences between my present 1980 17-2 and my previous 1978 'van of the same model. If anyone is interested as a supply of spares I could check measurements of any required parts against their required dimensions.
I am now about to put my house on the market, within the next very few days, and as soon as I get an acceptable offer I can offer completion any time from the end of January. I therefore need to get rid of this material within that timescale.
It is available free to anyone who would like it, but whoever has it will need to collect it. However I would prefer that one individual take the lot rather than my having to deal with several individuals each wanting just one or two pieces, and leaving me with a continuing problem of disposing of the remainder.
If no takers then I will reluctantly have to take it to the tip.
Basically it comprises most of the readily removable interior woodwork; certainly all the door fronts, drawers, beadings, etc, etc., and the full height sliding doors that partition off the bedroom; I don't remember whether cupboard/locker framework is present, but I can check that if anyone wants to know. Plus the two-burner-and-grill stove top and I think (but will need to check) the sink.drainer unit; from memory one or more of the stove burners is burnt out and needs replacing.
I have taken the chest of drawers (from between the two bunks) for use as a bedside cabinet in the house, but if necessary that could be released to anyone who takes the rest of the interior.
Collection would be from Liverpool.
